Tron: Legacy is an upcoming 2010 American science-fiction movie as a sequel to the 1982 film, Watch Tron: Legacy Movie Online, which will be released on December 17, 2010. Set in a digital world, it is a 3D high-tech adventure that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen.

Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) was a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer has been missing for 20 years. His mysterious disappearance prompts his rebellious yet tech-savvy27-year-old son, Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), to investigate a strange signal from the now abandoned Flynn’s Arcade. Sam knows that the signal could only come from his father. While searching for signs, he was suddenly transported to the digital world of The Grid. There he finds himself in the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 20 years. There he meets Quorra (Olivia Wilde), a fearless warrior and his Kevin’s loyal confidant. With her help, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber-universe created by Kevin himself that has become more sophisticated. Never-before seen vehicles, high-tech weapons, landscapes and pitiless villains will do everything and stop at nothing to prevent their escape. Kevin and Sam must evade an updated version of Flynn’s original hacking program, CLU2.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Steven Lisberger, Tron: Legacy also stars Beau Garrett as Jem (one of four programs known as Sirens), Michael Sheen as Castor (a vivacious and renowned program in the Grid who runs the End of Line Club at the top of a tower in the TRON city), and Bruce Boxleitner as Alan Bradley (the COO of ENCOM International and close friend of Kevin Flynn).

Filming started in Vancouver, B.C. in April 2009. Other filming locations include Canadian Motion Picture Park Studios, Burnaby, B. C., and Los Angeles, California. Digital Domain is working on the visual effects.

Distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, Tron: Legacy is an action-adventure-Sci-Fi film which has a budget of $200M and a runtime of 125 minutes. Presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and scored by Grammy® Award-winning electronic music duo Daft Punk, it hits U.S. theaters on December 17, 2010 in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D.
